My Tarazu Coffee Experience

I've been a Starbucks fan before I loved other brands of coffee. I wasn't really a coffee lover though, considering that I have my cardiac arrythmia with several palpitations way back then. I guess becoming healthier has helped a lot and I got into a gym hobby some time years back so now, I rarely get attacks - unless I'm extremely exhausted or if I took in too much caffeine.



I normally have hospital visits and checkups just to make sure I get better. I've had several tests and exercises and lab works, and my hospital visits do include my scoliosis treatments. At times, I get to visit the stores nearby and not so long ago, this coffee shop has opened just a few steps away from the hospital. The store, aptly named for its ambiance and coffee aroma coming from Costa Rican Tarazu beans, delivers a fine-dining coffee experience in a small space, beside a hospital, and inside a mini convenience store and fast food! How convenient!

    Thin and Amazingly Slim, Samsung Galaxy SII

    SLIM is the new thin, and this smartphone definitely belongs to that category.


    The Samsung Galaxy SII has got to be the slimmest and smartest phone ever at this point, toppling over the Apple craze iphone 4G. I personally own one and I have to say, I love it to bits. All its features and functions are much endeared to me and hopefully, I won't lose this phone (again) for years. I still am due for my own personal review of this phone but for now, I want to share this piece that makes it attached to a girl like me, slim or not ... This android phone is still the phone to beat!

      It was a devastating event for the Philippines, and nearby areas. It was an emotional and humbling experience for most of us. While I did not get much-affected by it, there were a lot of my fellow countrymen who were heavily affected. I remember posting about that two (2) years ago. As I reread today, I can't help but feel bad and woe to those who lost a lot in such a tragic incident. Typhoon Ondoy or "Ketsana" to its international name, has been a big bad wolf ... claimed lives when everyone else is not prepared ...

      I wasn't as thrilled in seeing the Landmark Guards in Cosplay as I am when I see cosplayers in malls where I suspect there's another cosplay event that I did not know of, whenever I happen to pass by. As much as the mall's prior gimmick with their Michael Jackson Uniform for the Dance Party Theme.

      This time around, they're having a Cosplay and Sports Challenge Theme for the month-long event or ... I dunno. I mean, well I'm not certain if they're really security guards but they check your belongings when you enter the mall and inspect if you have weapons or guns that kill or what-have-you so what do you expect? They do frisking too right? Well, you'll see this new theme plastered everywhere you go and for me, I've pretty much seen this at Landmark QC beside TriNoma though and not anywhere else yet. But seriously, I am not liking it! Nuh-uh!

      I'm so definite that I will miss this opportunity again. Why do concert dates fall on weekdays??? Gyaaaah!!! I missed Kylie's show back then. And then now, I'll miss this one too. For sure! (T_T)

      There are only a few concerts I really wanted to watch, and of course, they're my fave artists. There are quite a bunch of good concert scenes in the Philippines too, like the American Idol Finalists' 2011 Tour (Philippines), which is happening today; a Westlife reunion concert I guess, and loads more. I just check them from PhilippineConcerts site. Surprisingly, there are a lot of concert events happening but not all of them are as advertised as the rest.

      I've been a member of Girbaud's Club MFG (or Club Marithé+François Girbaud) since I was in high school. I've been a fan of its unique style, simple but elegant looks, pleasing colors, and simply put, just by being the style I would like to have when I'm in "comfy" mode ... if there's such a thing.

      What I used to get from them were monthly 10% discount cards mailed to me, which I almost always use. As I got into college, they normally send me 2 pieces of those ... making it a whopping 20% discount for me then. Woohoo! I normally just get jeans & shirts for my collection. I rarely bought shoes and bags though I had a few pieces of 'em too. Plus caps, wallets and ... well, that's it. That was it ...

      I get this question a lot of times from our employees and agents, mostly, and some new friends I met including those in the cosplay scene. It's not like I'm a beauty expert or something similar. But I felt I needed to answer this question for the benefit of everyone asking, hurhurhur~

      I guess I'll share it in a "Q&A Format" with the Top 5 Variations of this question and how I normally respond to them. And if any readers out there have a negative mindset or will just think of this post as another "know-it-all-about-beauty-blog" or this is just a self-centered post and the likes, then just leave and don't read hehehe.       I had my first Kpop attempt some time last year. It actually didn't sink in me to really portray a Kpop star or anything related that time. It just so happened that I found some of my photos and poses similar to Suzy from Miss A; and there was this contest from Kpop Convention 2 dubbed as the KPOP Idol Look-Alike Contest. So I made a collage of "similarly-angled" photos and this was the result ...

      This has got to be the grandest event to ever happen in the Philippines' Cosplay Scene every year! I ain't no expert nor am I affiliated with Cosmania organizers. I'm simply a cosplayer who have high hopes and a fan of this spectacular event. Personally, I'd say it's really the best I've ever attended in all conventions I've been at. I am no-newbie in the scene anymore and yet, I am also not a veteran. But my personal experiences in the past events have been my benchmark for what a grand event, and a successful one to be exact, should be. And this is it!

      I started attending cosplay conventions in 2008. I guess I can say that my first "official convention" could be Cosplay Mania 2008 where I debuted my Lili Rochefort cosplay, a first as well - or sort of hehe. I could say it was a success. I enjoyed the event. I went with my sister Zhong that time, and a highschool friend, Vander, who also loves anime and games and cons like that. That was also where I met notable individuals in the cosplay scene and have made friends with them; Ate Jac, Gene, Homer (who was Paul Phoenix from Tekken as well); Cykah, and of course, my cosplay sister Naoko... and many more! A lot of people were also mistaken though ... and they kept calling me Alodia ... not that I look like her or anything but because we cosplayed a similar character I guess. Well, she's already a star haha. I'm flattered! LOL.

      The event was really fun. That was my first real "catwalk" as well. As awkward as it may seem, I guess I can say I am honored that it was even featured in ABS-CBN's then show, The PROBE Team.       I am not really a fan of burgers. I mostly settle with pasta, chicken and salad most of the time. Or, some Chinese/Japanese cuisine servings. I find burgers unhealthy. LOL. Recently, I'm trying to get on a fruits and water diet. Eating burgers then is not in my eating list anytime soon. However, when this store opened nearby my workplace, I decided to check it out, together with some friends and colleagues. That branch has been open for quite some time now (a few weeks I guess) though I haven't really tried their food until recently.

      The facade looks enticing though and their location seems really cozy. Although the location looks like it may need more marketing efforts since it's not yet too noticeable, I'd say it's worth paying a visit especially once you've checked out their menu. Currently, they're running a promotion wherein if you order their selected menu offers, you'll get free chips and iced tea with it. They call it the FREEBIE STORM. It looks pretty yummy and enticing!

      The challenge started AUGUST 31!

      I so-wanted to join but there are a few parts in the mechanics that make me not eligible to join. Dang! I was actually excited to try it out. The group has setup their booths already and there were freebies given away last August 31 in the office. It was pretty interesting though. This is not an advertorial for them though. I'm just writing about this as I observe the contest.

      The very first eligibility requirement as I may quote, says ...
      A BMI of more than 25 means that the person is overweight or more. This is the eligibility pre-requirement to officially enroll to the program.
      I weighed in actually, on the same day, but it was for my back treatments as I restarted my therapy. And naaah, I'm not gonna post my weight. LOL. But thankfully, it means I ain't overweight yet. In fact, I lost 8 lbs. This is a good sign though since my doctor has been pushing me to really slim down to aid my treatments. This is one of the moves I wanted to try, harhar!

      While the program may be beneficial for most, of course this is a contest in the first place so there are certain mechanics prior to joining. They are ...

      If you think I'm going to post nude photos of me, showing off my sexy back and all, well ... sorry to pop those thought bubbles this early but NOPE, I ain't doing that. But I'm gonna share my back concerns and how it could possibly affect others to get a better, and yes, a sexier back. Yeah!

      I've had this condition since 2007. A prior diagnosis had me believe I had levoscoliosis. Good thing I had it checked once more at a hospital, where I found out I had dextroscoliosis instead. I haven't been a real-good girl and have neglected it for some times already, which made me suffer some of its pains ... if you keep on ignoring it. I didn't know that the spine can go sulking if you don't take care of it.


      As a result, just last March, I think for almost the whole month; I was out of the office because I've been sickly and I was confined. I had to undergo regular treatments without stress, without work, without worries so my whole system could relax. I thought I could do the treatments after work but my doctor recommended to file a medical leave of absence so the procedures can be cared for accordingly. It was a pretty boring stay at the hospital. No good food. No other means of recreation. No life. I'm just really thankful that my family and my beloved Fafi Emman was always there to support me and be my "guard" and stay on-watch as I do my 2x treatments everyday. The back pains are really terrible. The procedures were lengthy but I had to choice ... it came to that point already.
