Not so long ago, some time April 2013, popular fashion hub Lookbook.nu launched a very special project dubbed as Lookbook The Series. LOOKBOOK: The Series is claimed to be a story of passion, intrigue and betrayal set in the world of online fashion blogging. This original series was said to be inspired by the LOOKBOOK.nu community and each episode is available for viewing at lookbook.nu/tv

The project launched mixed reactions as well from eager fans and lookbook users; as well as the press. Like me ... I was intrigued about what type of story it has. Is it promising enough ... will we learn from this series ... is it gonna be "just another blogger" post showing different branded items without real style ... will they have lackluster acting ... etc. Those were some of my initial reactions when I saw it's email announcement. At the same time, I was also a bit excited back then since, well, this is something new from the Lookbook team. I tried to follow the shorts and I'd love to share my thoughts about this show.

I'm a fan of the Hunger Games movie. And while this look isn't anywhere near the costumes or looks in that flick, one of the songs in the movie's soundtrack keeps on playing in my mind as I donned this look. It's Taylor Swift's Safe and Sound. I dunno ... probably the ghostly voice and video, the song's lyrics, and the mood I had lately ... all plays the tune. Hence this look is entitled as such. I believe I'll be safe and sound soon too ...

The calming color of my blazer does match the lyrics ... soothing, relaxing ... a mood and feel I've been waiting for ...

I've been post-less and haven't visited my readers and the blogs I follow these past few days ... lah~ Sorry my dears! Been caught up with a lot ... Today, I'm launching a new feature in this blog and I'm calling it Project Dress Code. I've scheduled this post (and more of the posts to come) and written a while back ... just kept on moving because of other past posts hehehe ... My busy schedule keeps me moving. I've been thinking about this but haven't really blogged about it though, nor share it to you guys until today. You've seen my own version of it before: Dress Code Policy: Love It? Hate It? Whatnots? And now I wish to envision it on others ... So without further ado, I just launched it! LOL. No explanation needed! Haha!

Well, technically, I aim to feature fashion bloggers, celebrities, and even other people who may not be active in the social media world, who have influenced my style.

I live in a corporate environment where image plays a major role and as you may have read more and more in my posts - my past dressing style may either have been too young for my position or too old for my age. There's this balancing act that I always had to portray. It's been rather tough but thanks to these people and inspirations; I was able to pull it off.

This project also aims to share the looks of these people that will fit the office environment where I'm in; hence called "dress code." For a week's time, given the way they dress and style their outfits; which one of those would "fit" in the dress code? So somehow, this also shares my sense of style or how I'd style my looks based on their looks / outfits as well. Truly, filled with inspiration and love for fashion to share! I wish this series to be some-what regular on a weekly basis or a bi-weekly basis. Keeping my fingers crossed (^_^)

And today, my first feature is none other than Camille Co - one of my favorite fashion bloggers in the Philippines; who's also very popular worldwide.

Well, those are some of the lines from Pink's song "Try." I've heard the song since it was released; seen her music video since it went live; and seen her amazing rendition of her song in her live AMA Performance. The song is simply amazing! The lyrics convey the right words and message to a person who's really trying ...

I'm this dark mood lately and I'm not sure how it's gonna get better. A lot of factors beating me down to bits & pieces ... I'm just getting by ... Pink's song may be more suited for a lover suffering in violence but the lyrics are apt for all troubled folks out there too, not just lovers ... and it reminds us to stand back up and try, try, try ...

Pink is every girl's color. Agree? And I love items in every shade of pink. Perfect colors to combine with it include purple, lavender, light blue, white ... pastel colors! And this look I'm sharing with you all right now is full of pink and girly stuffs! Yay! It's fun being a girl!

Followers of this blog would know that my outfit style is really into corporate chic look or just a simple casual outfit, being in a corporate environment. Loud colors and prints wouldn't work. Skimpy outfit, revealing clothes, or those that have hints of "sexy" in them are not allowed. But of course, when it's "off work" or related to outings and team building activities, it's the time when I can wear outfits just right for the occasion and the season!

You've seen a preview of what I wore during my company Christmas Party in one of my previous posts - Black & White Soiree and Firmoo Eyewear Voucher Giveaway Winners! Now I want to showcase the look that one of my colleagues and friend has worn. I believe she should've won our Best Dressed Award for that night if it was taken seriously hehehe. I went around with her to shop for our stuffs (though mine, I mostly dug online hehehe) and I'm happy to see how it turned out. Woot!

Today, I'll feature Erelyn's Outfit and how we came up with it. She definitely looked very sexy and absolutely awesome! While there were many others who have worn black that night, she was stunning and most gorgeous I must say! Haha! Without bias my dears! She combined the very essentials for a great party look - velvet dress, sheer, some skin, gold accent, fabulous hair and make up! The perfect formula! So even if the night was filled with peplum, sheer, and other trends, she definitely stood out.!

Ain't she lovely lovely too? I'll share my outfit post soon though as I promised! For now, I'll share with you this outfit set for Erelyn. It was definitely fun as we played stylists along the way as we came up with this haha. We're not really stylist though but just girls havin' fun! :p

Looks familiar? Well, this is the other color of the Vintage-style dress I got from Mango. See the look again here: Outfit Post: Vintage Chic

And because I loved this dress' style so much, I got it in 2 different colors. Call my crazy but yeah, I went crazy for this dress and didn't want to let it go anymore. I know the trend may die down but vintage dressing will always go back. Besides, it ain't too-vintage at all so I can wear it without looking so out-of-style. The hearts prints are always a darling! Can't get enough!

So ... Vintage life ... it's something is written in the necklace but now I lost it ... and I can only recall a few lines in there... which included cupcakes. So if you're wondering why I entitled this look and post as such, blame it on the necklace! Hearts and cupcakes are normally associated anyway and this look with vintage vibes all go hand-in-hand. The store I got it is called Club & Spade. Cool stuff with vintage accessories! I wish I could get one again like this. The necklace is a vital piece for many of my clothing so I wish I could still get one hehe.

I like how this outfit can go and match my corporate / office wear taste. Probably not too-corporate since I don't think I need to be too-formal all the time. But this one really has that formal-attire-feel. Balanced look I guess ...

Don't you feel it too, sometimes? Like, being "ugly" and all? I bet you also do ...

Listening to 2NE1's song "UGLY" made me contemplate on the lyrics; a little bit and I did ponder on the meaning ... wallowing in deep thoughts may be unhealthy sometimes but the good brain exercise keep you sane.

I know I said it for some time now that office attire can be tricky some times because of the dress codes implemented and the interpretation behind it.

The song lyrics go (part of it, chorus) ...

"I think I'm ugly
And nobody wants to love me
Just like her I wanna be pretty
I wanna be pretty
Don't lie to my face
Tellin' me I'm pretty"

My sentiments exactly! Sometimes, I feel like even when I dress up well, it is unappreciated and gets attention the wrong way. There are but a few who does give you praise and admiration for your fashion sense. There are those who would laugh in scorn. There are those who'd tell you you're pretty and all but says otherwise when you turn your back.
