I must admit; I've been a cosplayer since 2008 and yet I don't own a huge collection of makeup! I only have the basics - 1 eye palette with just 5-6 colors that I got from a train station; 2 shades of blush on in a compact; about 5 different shades of lipstick only; 2-3 brushes for all purpose (blush, eyes, and another one). All these I survived since then ... not until in 2013 when I started getting a few more addition to my makeup kit - from gifts. And last year, I started adding more. I started receiving makeup as gifts mostly, which increased my collection overall. Then I got this set of matte lipsticks from this line that I now definitely love!

I don't have all the colors yet from their sets but I definitely love their collections. So far, I got these few pieces from Sleek Makeup "Matte Me" series and Detail Makeover "Matte in Detail" series. In this post, I'll be reviewing Sleek Makeup's Matte Me collection (at least for the 6 pieces I have). I'll reserve my review for the other set in another post. One of the most coveted roles in the Philippines' Entertainment Industry is our local version of the super heroine widely known as "Wonder Woman;" and ours is more commonly known as Darna. While it is inevitably argued that the two characters are not comparable, their similarities are quite uncanny. After all, our local folklore, arts, and comics genre are inspired by Western creations. Darna's a fictional comics character too and to read more about her, check it out here.

Now going back to the topic ... so Darna has been portrayed by several local actresses in either a TV series or movies. One of the most popular ones is Angel Locsin, a well-renowned actress for her portrayal of Darna in a TV series. She's said to be reprising this role in a big, anticipated movie this year, currently dubbed as "Darna 2017" however, due to her health conditions; which has been ongoing since last year (i.e. it was initially broadcasted as "Darna 2016"), she has officially announced now that she's out of the project. There was also an official announcement from ABS-CBN Management about this, given her spinal problems. And with Angel out of the picture, who will play this role now?

I recently had a film shoot where the theme was to look like in the 1950s era. I was sent a few photo references of the 1950s fashion for costume purposes but I had another idea in mind. Guess what? Well yeah, you probably guessed it right ... 1950s Barbie Doll! I researched a little bit more about the 50's fashion so I can match the look. It was only 2 days before the actual shoot so I didn't have much time to prep as well. It's not like I have a major role in the film though. But I love cosplay makeup transformations so I just wanted to make sure I look the part.

As I try to grow my Youtube Channel, I came to this side of the internet where I found a lot of weird stuff ... and characters! My Channel has been existing for quite some time but I just mostly upload random videos. My subscribers were primarily friends and contacts from my Google account since 2005 hehehe. That time, there's still that export option or something, if I'm not mistaken. I had the chance to have my Google contacts subscribe to me and my friends get notified when I upload a new video ... they mostly comment a lot. Fast forward now, a lot has changed in Youtube algorithm as well and getting views and subscribers get more challenging hehe. But anyway, I've been on hiatus for quite some time I guess. I only started getting back to my channel some time late 2015 and started creating content just in 2016, last year. Hope you guys subscribe to my channel as well!

Ok back to topic ... so as I try to venture into more Youtube research and videos related to my content ... I found this weird girl popping out everywhere. I found That Poppy or also commonly known now by her self introduction, "I'm Poppy." That ageless, seemingly young but sexually attractive girl with platinum blonde hair and cutesy-sounding yet monotone voice. I encountered this video by FBE wherein she reacted to some kids reacting to her video called as such as well. And that's really weird ... POPPY REACTS TO KIDS REACT TO POPPY ...

I was out on a work trip and then I ran out of makeup remover. I usually have or wear my Etude House Drawing Show Creamy Liner which is really hard to remove, even with my Etude House Lip & Eye Makeup Remover Review nor the Mascara remover. Etude House Eyeliners are pretty strong and when it says waterproof, it really is waterproof!

And so, I had a dilemma ... I couldn't find an Etude House store nearby. Do I just buy a different brand I dunno of or I'd just wait 'til I get back home; and I'd just wash my face with my regular face wash that's also a BB cream remover (and would work on makeup)? Well, there's a Beauty Bar store and I though, hmmm, maybe I can find an equally good product ... hopefully something that will not damage my skin. I have sensitive skin so I only use very limited makeup and skincare brands. Thankfully, I found this Andrea® Eye Q's Moisturizing Eye Makeup Remover Pads. I was skeptical at first though ...

There were other types but I chose this "moisturizing" one since it's the least greasy. I think that's really the best factor that sold this product to me hehe. After liquid type removers, I thought this one would work. Well - I ain't a beauty expert nor guru so I dunno all types haha. I just try 'em and review 'em ... sometimes I read other good stuffs and learn from those but mostly, I don't pay much attention. LOL. Anyway ... for this product, I have put it to the test ...

I first read about Anastasiya Shpagina last year when the Yahoo Article was published last year. It's almost too-good to be true. The article came along the rise of articles about quite-suspicious "real life" dolls like Valeria Lukyanova. It drew my interest as well and actually, this girl got more of my attention since she wasn't just focusing on being a doll or a model but she does cosplaying; and cosplay does attract me a lot. I've been missing this hobby already. I've been out of it for a almost 2 years ...

There were lots of controversies with her Anastasiya and Valeria. Google searches rose quickly for the names of these two and in related articles; would show a lot of posts trying to prove their non-existence or bashing them that they are "photoshopped" beauties or have undergone plastic surgery. To be honest, there are really lots of doubts but since then; these two have been trying to prove their worth too - showcasing videos and photos denying all rumors. It's really interesting how their stories progress. I lost track. But somehow, I must say Anastasiya has shown some talent that really glued me in - her makeup skills. While most videos nowadays can be highly digitally altered or edited as well, her documented transformations are wonderful.

The only time I put on makeup is during special occasions and cosplay. I don't really wear makeup on a day-to-day basis. I'm lazy applying makeup haha. But of course when we apply makeup, we want good makeup that really enhances our beauty and supports the colors that we put on our face. And especially during cosplays, there's a specific look we would love to achieve. Most of the time during conventions, it lasts all day so it's best to have long lasting makeup to minimize retouching and ruining your makeup in the middle. And I'm glad I was contacted by Anastasia Beverly Hills to review one of their products that's really perfect for any special event, and of course, cosplays!

I was given the opportunity to select a product to review. I selected from their Best Sellers list then since I was curious about what those products had to offer and why they were considered best. Back in February, one thing I'm seeing being advertised that much on the site was the Lash Genius Clear Waterproof Topcoat. I was thinking if I'll ever use that since I ain't really a "mascara" type of person - like, I don't really have a lot of mascara at home nor do I use it much. As promised, I'll write about the dress I got from my new sponsor, Edressy.com and I must say, I really chose the one I could wear in local parties and events. This post is then an "outfit post" and a "product review post" at the same time! Woot! So ... I've been getting a lot of these requests (and I'm sure it's common in the blogging community) primarily in the area where I'm currently concentrating - fashion, beauty, cosplay, reviews ... and the likes. Personally, I have nothing against it and I would love to say it out loud, specially to my dear readers, followers, and guests now (and future visitors who'll see this). However, I must say I have a few "pet peeves" when it comes to this request.

This will be entirely my opinion so whether you love it or hate it, I guess I'd probably not care. Well ... maybe I'll care too ... somehow ... a little. Of course, I value my readers' comments / feedbacks and as a blogger, I guess it's really important. Your readers thoughts matters so yeah ... I'll care. It might be subjective though - I'd listen to my regular readers more as they've been frequenting and commenting on this blog more. We're exchanging thoughts and giving feedback to each other which is really important. There's already a level of trust and understanding. There are some who seldom visits but have been my followers for long - I'd listen to them too. But maybe for random guests, I'll think about it ... it depends on the juice of the matter ...

Allow me to give it a blow-by-blow account as to how I view it and the varying situations that affect my opinion about it ...

This photo was taken last year, around October 2012 in one of our company anniversary parties. This was my "dance gear" look as we danced to the tunes of J.Lo's "Dance Again" and Beyonce's "Run The World." I wish I could share the video but I'm so darn lazy to transfer the vid from my phone to my computer lah~ So maybe some other time hehehe.

I've entered this as well for Step Up Movie's photo contest- if I were eligible. LOL. But the contest is only for US Residents hehe.

I'm a fan of dancing. I love to dance - whether that'd be hip hop, ballroom, local / folk dances, anything! Except probably for "breakdancing" hahaha! I can't even do that. But I do play DDR so maybe that'll help hehe~

Obviously, this look is inspired by 2NE1, coming from the term "Blackjack" since 2NE1 fans are aptly called. I myself am one of 'em!

Their music video entitled I AM THE BEST (내가 제일 잘 나가) which you can view here: Youtube - I Am The Best in its "all black glory" has become my inspiration for this look. I wasn't trying to look particularly like one of them though since it's all glossy and latex and all that I guess, but something chic and black fun might somehow look like it, I guess hehe.

KPOP has influenced me in so many ways too. The way I listen to music (which is mostly KPOP now indeed hehe); the way I dress up casually; the way I style myself; make up; party get up, etc.

While cosplay in itself as a hobby has helped me more, I must say Korean Fashion has been is one of the styles I follow and do most of the time. If you follow my blog, you'll see that one of my fashion resources is Asianvogue Shop and most of my outfits since way back then are from this shop ... or similar!

And this time around, when I'm not in my formal or corporate attire, during "casual mode", this is one of the ways I dress up - KPOP style!

Can't believe that it's been a year since this shoot and yet it feels like it's still so recent. I just recalled that I haven't written about this experience until I read about the event that happened a few days ago - Chalk Fashion Rocks 2012. This made me reminisce the opportunity given to me last year, where I was featured in a local teen / fashion magazine and in a celebrity magazine.

It was September 15 last year when we had our shoot and it was really fun and entertaining. A break from all the stress at work and something fresh; an activity I truly miss. Not that I'm new in shoots since I do attend photoshoots for cosplay, among others. Also, I ain't that new in getting featured since a number of my cosplays or characters have already appeared in other published materials (which reminds me, I gotta write about it too hehe). But getting featured in these magazines with a nice article is something I'd treasure for life.

I also can't believe I'm only posting this just now. LOL. Actually, I think I have a lot of other posts I need to queue. I haven't written about the other great finds lah~ Dang! I lack days to write! I normally just write on weekends and schedule them for posting (due to my busy work life lah~ sorry!) and spread them out. I guess that made it slip my mind on writing about this experience.

Nevertheless, here it is ... check out our fun moments in the shoot!!! Behind the scenes ... here we go!!!

Breaking the outfits posts (LOL) ... lemme go back to my other turf ... beauty stuff!

Fashion 21 Dipliner

Being a cosplayer, make up is also a kit essential. And being a cosplayer with small, chinky eyes like mine, I need a very trusty eyeliner that will shade and define my eyes ... not to mention make it bigger.

While I do have other favorites; of course from my trusted brand as well, Etude House; there are other cosmetics or make up items that I play faves on because of their functionality and the overall look I achieve by using them. And one of the essentials in make up is an eyeliner. In cosplay; the only eyeliner I use is this one brand - from Fashion 21.

In one of my other eye make up posts, I reviewed EH pencil eyeliner. There are different types of eyeliners and this type is definitely one that I think every girl should invest on - liquid eyeliner.

From the brand itself, Fashion 21 Cosmetics, there are different types of eyeliners to choose from. Actually, the dipliner is even on a separate category from the liquid eyeliner. I already tried both types in black and so far, this is my favorite.
