This month, two (2) of the leading print magazines in the country (the ever-lovely Philippines of course) namely Chalk Magazine and Star Studio, bring you ad features for VXI Global, one of the leading BPO companies as well. The advertorials focus on the fun vibes that call center employees evoke (primarily, US), and the need to have it in order to destress from the busy work life. Simply put, work meets fun! Tokidoki Sun Watch

It's been about a year's (or more?) struggle for me to decide what kind of watch I'd buy next. I know I need one sooner or later and I have somehow semi-decided since I blogged about it a few months back. I can't imagine why until now, I haven't bought one! Gosh! I ain't really that-indecisive. I normally would buy something in a snap when I know that's what I want. I guess I just really want something that will match my personality and so far, the ones I thought I wanted have never come close to that goal ...

Ms. C from chuvaness.com have posted a number of recommendations already, primarily from Swatch Watches. I loved all her entries (outside of the Swatch pieces of course) and yet, I dunno why I still haven't bought one. I liked the heart piece and leopard (?) prints from a Jeremy Scott collection she posted. I also wanted to buy something with advocacy so I thought I'd get the Breast Cancer Awareness piece since it's PINK and I love that color too. When she shared her dunny gift photos, I overly drooled and thought I'd get the pink one too! It's soooo cute I want to have all of the eight dunnies from the eight pop artists! The Kidrobot collection is surely an eye-candy! Then I thought why not get one of that and my next fave from the Hiroyuki Matsuura Collection, which I first liked anyway (Strawberry Switchblade or Windy Bunny). *le sigh* I can't decide.

I got all crazy and thought I'd just buy the same Mango Watch I owned before (coz mine's already broken). Turned out that all Mango shops I went into and watch / timepiece stores don't have stocks of that one anymore. There are other more classy styles, but I don't want them since ... I can only wear them in formal or coporate events ... I guess. *le sigh again*

Then, I saw that timepiece online and it caught my attention ...

Globe Business - What Kind of LEADER Are You?

The @enjoyGLOBE tweet about finding out what type of a leader are you, somehow caught my attention and I just immediately took the quiz - clicked the link from their post and answered right away! While I do know my kind of leadership style, it's still interesting to find out from other resources what style that could be - in terms of their own categories. So I hopped over the page and tried to find out what the fuzz is all about. I have to say, it's really worth-it!

There are several questions that one must answer. It took me just five (5) minutes I guess to finish 'em all. Of course it kinda doubled because I took screenshots so I can blog about it hehe. That's how interested I was ... especially since the prizes at stake include the new Blackberry Bold 9900 and Samsung Nari (and yes, I'm still loyal to my Samsung Galaxy SII). There weren't many questions but I did take them seriously and thought piece by piece how I would react to every situation presented. The results did show a striking resemblance and somehow a confirmation of my style. I guess!

And That Was CHALK FASHION ROCKS 2011!

Chai for Chalk Magazine

I know this is kinda late, like, a week late but it's better late than never, as they say. Hehe! And in here, I bring you my event review of the recently concluded Chalk Fashion Rocks 2011.

CHALK Magazine, the leading youth magazine in the country, celebrated their 11th anniversary last October 15, 2011 at the Ronac Art Center, Greenhills. The event featured a number of boutique shops and online shop stalls, perfect for the teens and those young at heart. From shoes, to clothes, dresses, accessories, perfumes, etc; name it, you have it! The programme proper was hosted by well-renowned youth icons, DJ Andi Manzano and Dino Imperial. (Follow them on Twitter: twitter.com/andimanzano and twitter.com/dinoi88. One of the event's highlights was the Fashion Show of course, and this part showcased UAAP and NCAA heartthrobs; as well as the event partner's chosen talents - VXI Models. Clothes were sponsored by SM Fashion. Any youth-event wouldn't be complete without the fun in dancing so at night, DJ's played and attendees partied 'til they drop! LOL. It was surely an eventful weekend!

This main blog photo I used is not connected in any way to Chalk Magazine's promotions or ads for that matter. I personally just edited this to promote the event, which is co-presented by VXI.

Me and my friends and colleagues from VXI have surely enjoyed it. I did not get a chance to roam around a lot. I came from my shift that afternoon and did not get a chance to sleep anymore so I rushed, took a shower, and zoomed right into the event to at least catch my dear co-employees grace the ramp! Sapatos Festival 2011 Brings You "Shoe Cosplay Competition" this November!

In about a month's time from now, SM City Marikina will be hosting this year's Shoe Cosplay Competition. This event is part of the 2011 Sapatos Festival held in more than a month-long celebration at the city of Marikina.

As they said ... the 'shoe' must go on ...

The festival runs from October 3 to November 18. The cosplay competition will commence on November 16, 2011. Marikina is known as the "shoe capital" of the Philippines, where the finest and proudly-Pinoy made crafts can be found. In a span of two (2) years, the city has been known as well for holding cosplay-related events, owing to the fact that most cosplayers have also resorted to using rubber materials in crafting their costumes, which are used also in making shoes. This in fact has added more to the prestige of the city, hence making it more accessible for mainstream cosplay events to be held. The city is rich in Filipino culture and tradition as well despite its urbanization.

Ok I know history bores you (similarly with me hehe) so let's get back to business. The Shoe Cosplay Competition. It sounds pretty weird for me but I ride along with it then considering that it's held in Marikina, the "shoe capital" anyway. Now, what's up for grabs for us and everyone else?

George is the Shih Tzu pet of one of my friends, whom I fondly call "Ate Joy." She's my rough, elder sister (LOL). And as tough and stiff as she can be, she has a soft heart too. George is her daily companion whenever she's stressed out or after our daily operations management headaches. I've visited their house for, a lot of times already, and I can always remember how sweet this cute little dog is. He's always barking with his little voice, as if trying to scare me away. I can't believe also that he'll be gone too soon ... just like that. In this world, really, no one knows when one's life will end. Sad to say ... it's George's life this time ...

My Cosplaymania 2011 Experience ... The Best Event Ever, as Predicted!

As predicted (yep, in my prior blogpost: Cosplaymania-2011-is-biggest-event-ever.html as my psychic powers tell me ... LOLZ), this is by far the biggest, the grandest, and the best cosplay event ever! Cosplaymania has never failed to deliver what con-goers expect and what they've promised thus far, be it the booths, the cosplay contests, the fun & excitement, the crowd, and loads more. This is the fourth (4th) Cosplaymania event that I've attended since I started in 2008. Every year, the event provides lots of improvement and more stuff that surely, everyone in all age groups and clans would enjoy. All my past reviews and photo albums / collections are in my Multiply site so just go check 'em out from there. I've seen it thru the years since 2008 and they (organizers and event-goers) have all succeeded!

The quality of the competitions and costumes you see in Cosmania has improved a lot as well. Before, and this is my personal take on it ... you'll see a lot of recycled costumes. YES ... recycled ... i.e. costumes that have been worn over and over again at almost every convention. I have nothing against reusing costumes. I've personally done that too but I guess doing it in like 10 consecutive conventions in a month? I may be exaggerating but I think that's overly doing it. Fortunately, this time around, I could say people have put a lot of effort into it and newer and more exciting and magnificent costumes have been launched. I am happy with everyone's efforts. (^_^) I love the outcome!

I almost thought I couldn't attend this year's event and oh boy ... I wanted to cry! But I've been blessed and was still given a chance to attend this year's most-promising event. It was a whirlwind week and with that allow me to recount what happened and how it came about ... prepare for somehow a lengthy post ...

Apple Unveils iPhone 4S (Sorry, Not iPhone 5)! RIP Steve Jobs ...

What's been dubbed as the "iphone 5" is now officially called the iPhone4 S. There were earlier rumors of the new iphone as their invitation to media groups tagged it as their commonly known line, let's talk iphone. There have been a lot of talks since summer about the new iphone since they've always released a new iphone since 2007 during the summer time and this year, fanatics had to wait 'til fall.

The long wait is over then! Although, the features are really tempting. I believe the iMessage is something to die for! Ok ... that's too much though haha but I guess I'd love to have that functionality. That's one tool I love the most about my Blackberry too, the BBM. It's an easy access to all your contacts. While it limits the ability to message everyone as in "SMS" function and can only message users with a Blackberry too, it's still a powerful ability that BB users have. Adding it to the iphone makes it a superb smartphone then. This new service will allow iOS 5 users to send text messages to each other over Wi-Fi or wireless carriers' data networks. I guess Nokia tried this system via their PTT (push to talk)-ala-walkie-talkie mode but carriers weren't ready for that back then. And now, this new service entices users, even Android fans like me. Does this call for a switch?
