I've been missing out in the cosplay scene recently due to my work load *le sigh* I can only keep up with what's happening from Facebook, thank goodness!
And with that, I learned that today, Alodia Gosiengfiao is celebrating her birthday with a bang! She's having a one-hella-cosplay birthday event in one of the most prominent malls in the country! Whoaaaa! She's at the peak of her stardom huh? Happy Birthday then Alodia!
Unfortunately, I can't come. Blame it on my schedules and my activities! Pfffffttt! I'm currently having my back treatments for my scoliosis (yet again) and so I've filed my vacation leave as well. I need to devote time for my health even for a short time before April ... because come next month, my calendar is fully booked once more for new projects and client visits. Haaaayyzzz!
But still, allow me to share the details of this event ...

RED NIMBUS, a popculture store located at the 3rd floor, Jump Street Wing of Robinson's Galleria, is having it's final blast of sales for all fans ... and it's a major blast, mind you ...
BUY 1 TAKE 1 SALE AT RED NIMBUS!!!
Fans of popular brands such as Tokidoki, Harajuku Lovers, kidrobot, Madhouse PH, kidninja, Sip, and many more, will surely love this opportunity ... You'll find a vast selection of t-shirts, tops, bags, jackets, and the cute vinyl toys (i.e. dunny or dunnies, designed by popular artists) and blind-boxed keychains and phone charms. The offer is good until supplies last of course. And for me, I definitely enjoyed this chance while at the same time, sad, that the shop will be closing after ... So this post is more of my shop review + promotion announcement for them ...
I first learned about this Magnum Ice Cream Bar from Chuvaness' blog. My first impression was ... this is awesome!!! I didn't know how much it was until we finally bought one. I was drooling just by sight of it ... luckily, my first bar was a treat from our boss (LOL) since we were in a middle of some helluvah powerpoint deck presentation to big bosses and overly stressed; needing a break ... we were thinking of what to get to ignite our senses and I recommended MAGNUM (while on that blog post by Ms. C).
Their marketing seems to be really active and successful huh? It caught my eye! LOL.
My first insights by looking at at though, comparing it from the photos online ... it seems to be overly advertised though the actual product doesn't resemble the photos ... geez! As if I dunno yet ... photos for ads would always have a disclaimer - that they may not be exact representation of the actual products due to photography shiz ... and stuff.
Bottomline, it looks smaller than how it's shown in the photos... By smaller, I mean smaller in width and height ... or ... whatever you wanna call it! Hahah! Am I too demanding??? I guess I was just expecting for an almost-resemblance in the advertised photos ... shame on me! Now I got a little disappointed ... The ice cream bar itself looks bigger in the pictures than the stick that pops out ... but in reality, the stick is longer and you get a rather small ice cream bar - see the pic???
But before I kill your thought bubbles ... read on ... it's not as bad as I may have sounded though ...
When you're such in a hurry to do a lot of things at one time, your perfect choice is to be in a mall where you could get food + shopping + other services. So when my compay was holding last year's (December 2011) Christmas Party celebration at World Trade Center; my best option for "last minute" preps was to be at SM Mall of Asia.
The only thing I had prepared was my dress (which I bought just a few days prior the company event). Everything else, I was relying on that last minute preparation (dang! I've been too busy at work!) That day, I went with one of my team members and friend, Melanie, as she wasn't too-decided yet if she'd join or not. I kinda convinced her though (heheheh) and she went with me to do girl-preps! Yah know what I mean ...
We had to shop for shoes and stuff. This little girl has little feet so hers was harder to find for a match! Dang! With mine, I already had the perfect plan hohoho~ But aside from all the others (make-up, shoes, other paraphernalias) ... every girl wouldn't be caught without maniped right? T'was rush hour already and gosh! Every store we went to were full! How many party-attendees were they servicing? LOL. Plus, some of the other stores were too-expensive! Gee! So being the thrifty shoppers that we were, we wanted a budget-friendly store and it was sheer luck that this store was open and available to service us; two (2) more girls in the room. The name was catchy as well - MINT nails + wax + relax.

I was reading a few of my old articles or blog posts with a friend, and found this from my old blog: A Call To Young Leaders. I'm happy to have shared this to a few of my team members and dear friends as well. I strongly believe in these concepts and I guess, the story that comes with it will be helpful to new and aspiring leaders.
Allow me to repost it here then in my new blog ... After all, I also miss one of my previous bosses, who is the topic of my blog post ... As a manager now, I still look back to these concepts that help me go with my life now ...
Have you tried working in a corporation? Did you like how its management team handled their business decisions? What role did you play in the growth of the company? Did you ever encounter conflict with your supervisor? How did you resolve it? I have thought of these questions as some queries that any interviewer might ask. This is a rather long post (due to conversation pieces and photos ... but I've highlighted good notesdo read the conversation the snippets at each "realization")
I will not be talking about how to ace an interview and get the job you've always dreamed of. In fact, I am writing about someone. Right now, you may think I hate this person and that he has humiliated me so much hence I wanted to talk about him. Haha! Well, read on. This is about ... my boss. This person changed my perspective of the corporate world and he eradicated my views about bosses. He completely shaped my thinking and made me the person I am now. He is really at fault! Yes. This is all his fault! He made me believe what I've already learned ... that there's really a difference between a boss and a leader he has shown me the complete deviation between the two concepts. He is an embodiment of one of them!
I joined Etude House Philippines'New Year, New Do FaceBook contest and actually, it was somehow fun hehe. I love Etude House products and I've been wanting to change my hair color anyway so what will I lose if I join right?
The contest ran last January 2012. I think I wasn't able to put much effort into it. Initially, participants are required to send in their photos and they'll be uploaded on EH's Facebook Page. It's one of those photo-liking contests and as much as I really do not participate in a lot of those types of contests, I thought I'd give it a try this time. I wondered how many folks would like my new hair-do. Yey!
EH Team is very active in their social media sites, including their Etude House Twitter account. I like how they hold contests like this one!
And sooo, the moment of truth has come ... I think for about a week or two. I tried to "campaign" as much as possible lah~ I didn't bothered much friends though hehe. I guess only 20% of my Facebook friends have participated in terms of liking and sharing my photo. I am very grateful for their support! (Thanks friends! *hugs*) And with this entry comes my review for the product as well ...
